Outono está aqui e com ele as cores bonitas nas árvores, abóboras e decorações de Halloween em toda parte. Eu amo outono!

Estava planejando  semana passada em ir num labirinto de plantação de milhos, mas como choveu, achei que estaria com lama e desisti da ideia. Por fim, decidi de novo em ir já que esse provavelmente seria o melhor fim de semana para isso. O tempo muda tão rápido que nunca se sabe como será… Esses últimos três dias foram ensolarados, e estava com esperança de a terra estar sem lama, e tivemos sorte que não estava!

Autumn is here and with it comes beautiful colors on the trees, pumpkins and Halloween decorations everywhere. I love autumn!

I planned on going to a corn maze this week. However it rained, so thought it would be muddy and I gave up on the idea. In the end I decided to go after all as it probably would be the best weekend. The weather changes so fast and you never know how it’s going to be… These past three days were sunny so I was wishing it wasn’t going to be muddy, and luckily it wasn’t!

Dirigi com meus amigos cerca de uma hora para chegar até o Temple Hall Farm em Leesburg/VA. Eu li que esse é o único labirinto com 20 acres na Costa Leste dos EUA, e estava animada com isso! Amei também o design do labirinto, e honestamente isso foi o que me fez decidir pelo Temple Hall Farm em vez de outros.

 I drove with my friends about one hour to get to the Temple Hall Farm in Leesburg/VA. I read that it’s the only 20-acre maze on the East Coast, so I was very excited for it! I also loved the design of the Maze, and honestly that’s what made me choose the Temple Hall Farm instead of others.

No labirinto, confiei nos meus amigos e deixei que me guiassem. Nos perdemos algumas vezes, mas conseguimos voltar rapidamente pro caminho certo. E foi muito mais rápido que pensei, escolhemos um caminho e terminamos em menos de uma hora.

At the maze, I trusted my friends and let them guide me. We got lost a few times, but quickly got back to the right path. It was much faster than I thought, we chose a path and we finished it in less than an hour.

Amei esse caminho de abóboras, bem colorido! Ao lado tem a loja, e lá comprei uns doces e mini abóboras. Tão lindinhas!

I loved the pumpkin patch, so colorful! Beside to it there is a store, I bought some candies and mini pumpkins. So cute!

It was a sunny and beautiful day! Do you also like all of this autumn stuff?

Fazia tempo que não ia em uma trilha e estava querendo muito. Convidei alguns amigos e então fomos para a trilha Billy Goat em Maryland nesse fim de semana. Estava procurando por uma trilha fácil e essa foi perfeita, do jeito que queria. A vista ao longo do Rio Potomac é linda. Foi bem relaxante e me fez esquecer de tudo por um tempo e só viver o momento.

It’s been a long time since I’ve gone hiking and I was wanting to so badly. I invited some friends and then we went to the Billy Goat trail in Maryland this weekend. I was looking for an easy trail and it was perfect for what I wanted. The view along the Potomac River was beautiful. It was so relaxing that it made me forget about everything for a while and just live in the moment.

ESTACIONAMENTO
Coloquei o nome da trilha no Google Mapas e me levou para uma rua residencial. Então dirigi um pouco mais e encontrei um estacionamento grátis de frente para o Old Angler’s Inn.

PARKING
I put the trail’s name in Google Maps and it took me to a residential lane. So I drove a little bit more and found free parking right at the front of the Old Angler’s Inn.

TRILHA
A trilha é dividida em três seções, A, B e C, que começam e terminam no Canal Chesapeake e Ohio. Escolhemos a seção B, e pra chegar lá descemos saindo do estacionamento até cruzar uma ponte, viramos pra direita até a placa de entrada para a seção B.

Levamos cerca de duas horas e meia para terminar a trilha com algumas paradas para comer, descansar e tirar fotos. No final da seção B pegamos esquerda e continuamos pelo Canal C&O para voltar para onde começamos. Tem alguns peixes bem grandes no canal, se você chegar perto consegue ver.

TRAIL
The trail is divided into three sections, A, B, and C that start and finish on the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal. We chose section B, and got there by going down from the parking lot, crossing the bridge and then turning left until we reached the sign to enter section B.

It took us about two and a half hours to finish the trail; with some stops to eat, rest and take pictures. At the end of Section B we took a left and kept walking along the C&O Canal to go back to where we started. There are some big fish in the canal, and if you get closer to the water you can see them.

DADOS
Não tem sinal de telefone em alguns lugares, e onde tem o sinal é bem pouco. Conseguiu usar o Google Mapas, que me deixou mais segura de saber onde estava. É uma boa ideia trazer um mapa impresso em caso que precise usar.

Gostei em parte de não ter sinal no telefone, assim consegui desligar completamente. Sem mensagens de texto, Facebook e Instagram. Eu sobrevivi!!

DATA
There is no cell phone network in some spots and the places with service have a very low signal. I could use Google Maps, and it made me feel safe to know where I was, but it’s a good idea to bring a printed map just in case.

To some extent I liked being with no cell phone network; it helped me to be offline for a while. No texts messages, Facebook or Instagram updates. I survived!!

Georgetown é um bonito bairro histórico cheio de lojas e prédios coloridos. Me lembrou bastante de Old Town em Alexandria, VA. Peguei o metro e depois um ônibus perto da estação Foggy Bottom, e levou cerca de dez minutos para chegar em Georgetown. Quando cheguei lá fiquei feliz que decidi ir de transporte público em vez de carro, o trânsito lá é pesado e difícil de dirigir e estacionar! Não vá de carro!

Georgetown is a beautiful historic neighborhood with lots of shops and colored cute buildings. It remembered me a lot of Old Town in Alexandria, VA. I left here by metro and got a bus close to the Foggy Bottom metro station, and It took me about ten minutes to get to Georgetown. When I got there I was glad I decided to go by public transportation, the traffic there is heavy and it’s hard to drive and park! Don’t go by car!

Tem um monte de restaurantes e lugares para sentar para aproveitar a vista do Rio Potomac. Foi a primeira vez que fui em Georgetown então decidi só caminhar pela cidade para conhecer, mas quero voltar outra vez é ir num desses cruzeiros que tem no Rio Potomac.

There are lots of restaurants and places to sit and enjoy the view along the Potomac River. It was the first time I went to Georgetown so I decided to just walk around to get to know the area, but I want to go back to take one of the cruises they have on the Potomac River.

Para terminar o dia fomos no Georgetown Cupcakes para provar os famosos cupcakes! Quase desistimos de ficar naquela fila com mais de cinqüenta pessoas, mas finalmente decidimos ficar. Pedi cupcakes de caramelo e coco e estavam deliciosos! Melhor forma de terminar o dia!

To finish the day we went to the Georgetown Cupcake to try the famous cupcakes! We almost gave up staying in that line because it had more than fifty people, but we finally decided to stay and wait. I got the caramel and coconut cupcakes and it was delicious! It was a good way to finish the day!
