These pictures were taken in April at the Festival of Tulips, an annual event at the Thanksgiving Point Gardens. It was my first time at the TPG, and I was in awe with such a beautiful place. I liked this place so much that I got the membership, so I can go back maaaany times!!!

The trees were green, the flowers colorful. The waters fell down in the waterfalls, and the birds sang… A perfect spring day.

Essas fotos foram tiradas em Abril no Festival de Tulipas, um evento anual do Thanksgiving Point Gardens. Foi minha primeira vez no TPG, e fiquei muito impressionada com tanta beleza. Gostei tanto desse lugar que fiz o cadastro para membro, para poder voltar muuuitas vezes!!!

As árvores estavam verdes, as flores todas coloridas, as águas na cascata, os pássaros cantando… Foi um dia perfeito de primavera.

It was chilly in the morning when I left home, and later in the afternoon, it got warm, and I couldn’t take my sweater off!

Estava frio de manhã quando sai de casa, e depois à tarde ficou quente, e não pude tirar a blusa!

Walking through the Gardens, I felt as if I had been taken out of the brown-ish Utah. It felt like any other place, but Utah! In fact, the Thanksgiving Point Gardens reminded me a lot about the National Arboretum in Washington D.C. Seriously, I couldn’t imagine that there was a place so beautiful as this so close and right here in Lehi.

Caminhando no jardim, senti como se tivesse sido tirada da amarronzada Utah, senti como se estivesse em qualquer outro lugar, menos Utah! Na verdade, o Thanksgiving Point Gardens me lembrou bastante do National Arboretum em Washington D.C. Sério, nunca pensei que tinha um lugar tão lindo como esse aqui tão perto, ali em Lehi.

I LOVE this combination of flowers + mountains! Utah, you have my heart!

Estava bem animada hoje de ir no Grande Lago Salgado. Na última vez que viajei para SLC, pude ver pela janela do avião esse grande e bonito lago, e desde então eu quis vir para ver. Não estava o mesmo azul hoje, mas com nevoeiro e cinza. Adorei muito passar um tempo lá.

I was so excited today about going to the Great Salt Lake. Last time that I travelled to SLC, I could see through the airplane window this big and beautiful lake, and I since then I wanted to come to see it. It wasn’t that same blue today, but foggy and gray. I enjoyed a lot spending some time there.

// Estava lamacento e tinham muitas pedras. Fiquei feliz de estar em sapatos confortáveis!

// It was muddy and there are lots of rocks. I was glad I was in comfortable shoes!

// A montanha estava escondida no nevoeiro! Estava tão calmo e bonito.

// Tinham vários ramos como esses ao longo do caminho. Obrigatório parar um pouco para tirar fotos!

Fatos & Dicas:

• O Grande Lago Salgado é localizado no estado de Utah/EUA.
• É o maior lago de água salgada no Hemisfério Ocidental.
• Tem uma taxa de $3 de entrada no Great Salt Lake State Marina.
• Cheira mal, como peixe morto. Imagino que no verão deve ser bem pior. Mas a vista faz valer a pena.
• Quando você chegar na marina, não estacione no primeiro estacionamento que ver, continue dirigindo para ver os ramos e ter uma visão melhor do lago.

Facts & Tips:

• The Great Salt Lake is located in the state of Utah.
• It’s the largest salt water lake in the Western Hemisphere.
• There is a $3 entrance fee at the Great Salt Lake State Marina.
• It smells bad, like dead fish. I guess in summer it must be worst. But the view is worth it.
• When you get at the marine, don’t park at the first parking lot that you’ll see, keep driving to see the bushes and to have a better view of the lake.
